OG VW Safari Window Page Here's a pic of my Safari Windows. This is another accessory that I've held onto for years, waiting for the right bus to put them on. While working for the family biz and taking a break from VW Parts for a few years in the mid 90s, I was making Safari Wiper Shafts. These were exact replicas of the ones VW made 40-50 years ago, with the exception that they were stainless steel! They were an assembly of 11 different pieces, 9 of which were made by me. Only the dowel pin and spring were purchased. I sold them as fast as I could make them, but it only lasted about a year before they were copied. More to come. . .
